Great Adventures are in really near...

Cumberland Island

Pristine maritime forests, undeveloped beaches, and wide tidewater marshes whisper the stories of both man and nature. Natives, missionaries, enslaved African Americans, and Wealthy Industrialists all walked here.  Cumberland Island is also home to over 9,800 acres of Congressionally designated Wilderness. Today you can walk the finest, most protected beaches on the East Coast. Explore historic buildings and wonder in amazement at the myriad species protected by restricting development and the number of daily visitors.

Plum Orchard Dock is only 20 minutes by boat from our Marina Island Dock. Or you can take the daily National Park Service ferry to Sea Camp Dock that departs twice daily from St. Marys. (If you're lucky, you may see a King's Bay-based Trident submarine in the Cumberland Channel!)

Okefenokee Swamp

Misty Harbor is just 40 miles from the main Okefenokee Swamp Park entrance, and just 50 miles from Kingfisher Landing, a great place to launch a kayak or canoe for a day paddle.

The Okefenokee Swamp has the distinction of being the largest, intact, un-fragmented, freshwater and black water wilderness swamp in North America. It forms the headwaters for the Saint Marys and Suwanee Rivers and has more than 120 miles of water trails for exploration.

The botany and wildlife found in the swamp are protected under the National Wilderness Preservation System. This designation is given to federal lands that are affected primarily by nature and where people are only visitors.
